How these AI reports are made

Every report follows the same four rules, so any figure you quote from it can be traced back to its source.

  1. 01Every number is computed by a script from a dated snapshot - none is typed by hand.
  2. 02Every figure names its source, its sample size and what it covers.
  3. 03A published edition never changes silently: any fix is a dated correction on the page.
  4. 04The data behind every edition is a CSV you may reuse under CC BY 4.0.

Questions about our AI reports

They are regular, dated reports on how AI is used and what it costs, written for UK business owners and anyone who needs a number they can quote. Each edition is built by a script from official statistics or our own measurements, frozen once published, and comes with its method and a CSV. Start with UK business AI adoption.

Yes. Every edition is free to reuse, including commercially, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence: credit Eclipse Labs AI and link to the edition. Each edition has a cite-this line you can copy and a CSV of every figure. Figures built on government data also carry the Open Government Licence line, as the licence requires.

No number is typed by hand. A script collects the data, checks it is complete and in range, and writes a dated snapshot; the edition is built from that snapshot and a gate refuses any figure that differs from it. A person reads every draft before it is published. Each figure names its source, sample size and what it covers.

We correct it in the open. A published edition can only change with a dated correction on the page that says what changed and why, the way official statisticians do under the UK Code of Practice for Statistics. Earlier editions stay online, so anyone who quoted a number can still find the figure they used.

Each report has its own schedule, set by its data. UK business AI adoption follows the Office for National Statistics, which asks about AI about once a quarter, so a new edition arrives each time the ONS publishes. Every report page lists every edition with its date, and the newest edition is always linked from the report's own page.

AI that works for small business.
