Programmatic Local SEO: a real page for every town you cover
Programmatic Local SEO is a set of "service in town" pages built from your own jobs, prices and reviews, each one checked against its neighbours before it goes live. From £1,499, then £99 a month. Live in 15 working days.
Why doesn't one "areas we cover" page win local searches?
Most local firms list every town they cover on one "areas we cover" page. Google reads that as one page about nowhere in particular, so a search for "plumber in Otley" has nothing of yours to land on.
Writing a real page for each town and service by hand costs a copywriter weeks, so nobody does it - and the firm with fifty thin pages copied from a template gets filtered out as spam.
The way through is in the middle: pages built from data you actually hold, so each one says something true that the others don't.
How does this compare with an areas page or a template plugin?
Programmatic Local SEO builds one page per town and service from your jobs, prices and reviews, each scored against its neighbours. An areas page gives you one page for every town, and a template plugin gives you near-identical copies.
| One "areas we cover" page | A template plugin | Programmatic Local SEO | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pages | 1 for every town | 1 per town, near-identical | 1 per town x service, each unique |
| Built from | A list of town names | The town name swapped in | Your jobs, prices and reviews |
| Copy check | None | None | Scored against its neighbours |
| Indexing | Whenever Google gets to it | All at once | Daily batches |
| You can see | Nothing per town | Nothing per page type | Clicks by page type, monthly |
What do you get with Programmatic Local SEO?
Programmatic Local SEO gives you a ranked page plan, pages built from your own data, a uniqueness check on every page, one sitemap per page type, daily indexing batches, honest dates and a monthly report by page type.
- 01
A page plan
Every town x service pair worth a page, ranked by search demand, with the ones too thin to publish cut.
- 02
Pages from your data
Each page built from your jobs, prices, reviews and coverage - so no two say the same thing.
- 03
A uniqueness check
Every page scored against its neighbours before it goes live. Near-copies are held back, not published.
- 04
Split sitemaps
One sitemap per page type, so Google Search Console tells you which kind of page is being indexed.
- 05
Indexing in batches
New pages sent to Google and Bing in daily batches, never all at once.
- 06
Honest dates
A page's "last updated" only changes when its content does.
- 07
Monthly report
Clicks, views and indexed pages by page type, with the pages to fix next.

Is programmatic local SEO right for my business?
Programmatic Local SEO suits a firm that serves five or more towns, or has three or more distinct services, and holds real jobs, prices and reviews per area. It is the wrong fit if you serve one town or want rankings next week.
A good fit if
- You serve 5+ towns or have 3+ distinct services
- You hold real data per area: jobs, prices, reviews
- You can wait 2-3 months for rankings to settle
Not for you if
- You serve one town - you need a better single page
- You want rankings next week
- You have no data beyond a town list

Programmatic local SEO is building many location pages from structured data instead of writing each one by hand. Each "service in town" page draws on facts you hold for that area - jobs done, prices, reviews, coverage - so it answers a real local search. On GigXchange the same method runs 15,258 pages across 17 sitemaps.
Not if every page carries something true and different. Google's scaled content policy targets pages made in bulk "for the primary purpose of manipulating search rankings". We score each page against its neighbours and hold back near-copies, so you publish fewer pages than the maximum - on purpose.
As many as your data honestly supports - usually 50 to 400 for a firm covering one region. We map every town and service pair, cut the ones with no search demand, then cut the ones your data can't make unique. The page plan shows you the number and the reasons before anything is built.
Expect the first clicks in 4-8 weeks and a settled picture at around 3 months. Google indexes new pages gradually; we send them in daily batches so a sudden spike doesn't look odd. GigXchange clicks went from 2,247 to 4,232 a month between July and October as indexing caught up.
Hosting the pages, adding new towns or services as you grow, keeping dates honest, re-checking indexing, and a monthly report of clicks, views and indexed pages by page type. Cancel any month and the pages stay yours - you just stop getting updates and reports.
Yes, on most setups. The pages can live on a folder of your current domain or we can host them for you on Cloudflare. WordPress, Squarespace and Wix sites usually take the folder route. If you'd rather start fresh, Web Development includes this as an add-on.
A list of services, the towns you cover, and whatever you hold per area - past jobs, prices, reviews, photos, team members. A spreadsheet is fine. We never need logins to your accounts or customer details, and we strip personal data out of anything we receive.
This wins Google results for "service in town" searches, with a page for every town and service you cover. AI Search Readiness makes your whole site readable by ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, so they can quote it. They work best together, which is why both sit in the AI Search Growth bundle.
